Meet Ranoosh

Ranoosh's artistic journey began at the young age of 16 under the guidance of European artist Bazille. She later expanded her training in the United States, studying at the Phoenix School, the National Academy, and the Art Students League. It was during her four years at the Art Students League with Frank Mason that she delved deep into figure painting and portraiture, focusing on the atmospheric effects championed by the Old Masters. She often visited the Metropolitan Museum, studying the works of the old masters — their techniques and brushstrokes — and copying their paintings there. Ranoosh specializes in figure painting and portraiture, having studied under the esteemed Frank Mason at the Art Students League. Her approach to art transcends mere replication; she believes that painting is a creative expression of ideas and dreams drawn from reality. Working almost exclusively in plein-air, Ranoosh embraces the atmospheric effects reminiscent of the Old Masters. Ranoosh's dedication to her art has earned her prestigious accolades, including first prizes from both the Phoenix School and Art Students League. Her work has captured the attention of art enthusiasts, being exhibited in Canada under the auspices of the London Museum. Ranoosh won first prize in both the 40th and 41st Annual Artists Ball A.S.A. events.

Academic Achievements and Recognition

Ranoosh's talent has been recognized with multiple first prizes at the Phoenix School and Art Students League. Notably, while still a student, Ranoosh was commissioned to paint the portrait of Ellen Hunt Harrison, wife of Wallace Harrison (Designer/Architect of Lincoln Center, Rockefeller Center and the United Nations).
Throughout her career, Ranoosh has garnered recognition for her contributions to art. She is an resident member of the prestigious Salmagundi Club in New York City, one of the nation's oldest centers for fine artists, and also a elected member of the American Artists Professional League.

Artistic Philosophy

Ranoosh's philosophy revolves around the interconnection of humanity, nature, and art. She believes that painting outdoors achieves far more than extensive hours spent in a studio. To her, art is more than just mimicking reality; it is a personal response to the subject that encapsulates the artist's thoughts and spirit.

A Life Enriched by Art

Currently residing in Connecticut, Ranoosh continues to be influenced by Old masters, French Impressionism and Classical music, enriching her vibrant artistic expression. Her works can be found in private collections throughout both the United States and Europe.
